Artist Statement

The process of creating can be tormenting. From the birth of an idea to when the idea has materialized into something physical. It is no time like any other. It is a time of mental turmoil. In the beginning the idea seems quite concrete but it almost always changes in the process. Whether it is an idea for a scarf or an art print, the mental process is ongoing.

I love exploring relationships of colors, how they talk when put next to each other. I love bold, saturated colors which I use a lot. I get a lot of inspiration from nature and I study various organic textures which I use in my work. I "feed" my canvas with many details. More is more when designing a scarf. I like creating contrast by putting opposite elements together. For example, organic texture and geometric shapes. I use a digital platform to produce art but I usually start with a traditional pencil and a sketchbook.

It is very important to me to keep learning. Whether it is a new traditional technique or digital software, I make it my goal to learn. As a result of this, my art evolves in ways that I cannot predict. In this sense, there is a planned and unplanned aspect to my art, which are blended along the way.

I aim to produce works of beauty. When I arrive at the final stage of completion I feel enormous joy. This is the kind of joy I want people who come close to my art to experience too.

Short Biography

I studied fine arts for many years under the famous artist Mihail Kamberov in Europe. After graduating and spending a year studying at the Academy of Fine Arts, Sofia, I moved to the US. After moving to the US, I obtained a BFA in digital arts.

After working for about 15 years in graphic design and marketing, I became a mom. Around that time, I decided that it was time to for me to become a full time artist again. Art was the missing piece of the puzzle.
